Coalfields Industrial Park
Perry County, Kentucky

Design of the water and sewer facilities for the 459 acre industrial park on previously strip-mined land was completed to serve the new industrial park and provide better service to existing industry. The water portion of the project included: 4.8 miles of waterline in sizes 3” thru 16”. Sewer improvements included: 4.0 miles of gravity sewer, 10.2 miles of force main and 6 lift stations. Other tasks included: construction contract administration, construction oversight and attendance at Regional Industrial Authority meetings. Trus Joist had occupied the lot adjacent to the Industrial Park for many years using a package treatment plant to treat wastewater. Installation of the sewer allowed removal of the package treatment plant at Trus Joist and 5 others along the sewer route. American Woodmark moved into the Park and employs approximately 300 people. The East Kentucky Corporation constructed a speculative building in the Park in 2004.
